First you figure out, whats your why.  Why are you starting a network marketing business?  This is an important concept overlooked by many network marketers.   It is important because this is going to be your driving force when things get tough.  Whatever the reason you are getting into network marketing, whether it’s to quit your 9-5 job, spend more time with your family, be financially free, go on more vacations, etc… whatever the reason, you need to establish your why and use it a your driving force to keep you motivated, keep you focused, and keep you in the right mindset.  It will be far to easy to give up or quit if you don’t have something to work towards.

The next thing you need to do is to develop the right mindset.  I call this the Entrepreneurial Mindset.  If you’re going to go into business for yourself, you need to start “thinking business”.  One of the biggest problems with network marketers today is that they don’t establish this mindset.  The majority of network marketers don’t really see themselves as successful and independent business owner.  It’s almost as if they are afraid to be successful.  The thought of living a life of abundance and true wealth sounds great, but when it comes down to it most people are not used to that lifestyle and so it is hard for them to believe it could actually happen.  Developing the right mindset is crucial.  How can you expect to be successful and live the lifestyle you seek to live if you don’t truly believe in your heart that is possible?  The best advice we can give would be do work on Personal Development at least 30 minutes every day.  Reading books, listening to audio, etc…. develop your mind and work on yourself as a person.  A great book to get you started is called Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Believe it or not, the next important thing you need to work on is taking care of your body and physical health.  You need to take care of your body and be in good health  to endure the ups and downs and to get you through those long days.  Yes, network marketing is an incredible business that you can live the life of your dreams with, however you must do a little work to get there!  Being healthy with help you through your journey, and this will also help with your mindset.  If you feel good health wise, your mind will be more at ease, more in sink with your body, and this will help your mind develop faster.

The 3 tips we just discussed are probably three of the most important things you can do for yourself when starting a network marketing business.  Now that your have your why, your in the right mindset,  and your taking care of yourself and staying healthy, lets talk about your business!

Traditionally we as network marketers are all taught the same thing… Chase friends and family, make a warm list, buy leads, cold call, pass out flyer’s, ect… That stuff doesn’t really work anymore and is pretty outdated, but that is how you are taught to build your business offline so we’re not going to get into that here.  Lets discuss marketing your business using the Internet.  With so many people using the Internet, the network marketers who are dominating the industry today are the ones to understand the power and leverage of the Internet.  So the last tip I’m going to give you is to learn how to use the power and leverage of the Internet to build your MLM business.  There is a wealth of free tools you can use to market your business online.  Tools such as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, Twitter, Article Marketing, Video Marketing, the list goes on.  The Internet is a great place to get yourself visible and build your business lightning fast and with the proper tools & training it is actually not that difficult.
