All the business activity on a certain period of time should be reflected in the marketing plan, which clearly indicates that the purpose of such documents is not only informative.

Since market trends change and the evolution is difficult to estimate, marketing business plans should normally refer to a year in advance, at the maximum. The activity for the coming year will make the bulky part of the plan. It’s a huge mistake to skip this stage of business management and development. Marketing business plans take weeks if not months to design, and this is specific to both large and small companies.

Normally, the marketing business plans ought to remain private or secret within the company, even if their making requires the participation of many employees. Running a business is very complex and without a step-by-step guide to action, your activities could easily go astray.

Written documents will turn into a reminder of what actions need to be carried out. Every once in a while, the manager would have to go through the plans and see whether any adjustments are necessary or not.
