It would look like some things never change and despite the world wide banking crisis and the current financial situation, financial institutions are still intending to pay out lavish bonuses to their people, despite warnings from the prior Chancellor of the Exchequer and the current coalition government to the contrary. However these same financial institutions are either unwilling to lend to small enterprises at all, or they will lend but then impose high interest rates. This can put a small business which has an late bill with a large business for work completed or goods furnished and have their own invoices and wage bills to fulfil, but are getting short of money. Given the “support” from the financial institutions, the small business could well decide that Debt Collection is worth looking at, to check if they can get the bill paid without it costing too much.

Their search for a Debt Collection solution could well bring up|give them[/spin] the typical Debt Collection methods such as lawyers and Debt Collection Agencies, but when the small business looks at the fees they charge this could put them off. The current rate seems to be from 10% to 20% or more of the bill value, but this sort of rate could well be all or a large part of the profit that the small business would have left from the bill payment, so these would look to be expensive Debt Collection methods. Further searching should bring up a DIY solution, that of Debt Collection Software, which permits the small business to take on the Debt Collection work themselves. Debt Collection Software systems can cost around the £40 mark for a decent application, but first the small business would have to realise that the prices levied by lawyers and Debt Collection Agencies are there to cover their overheads, such as people, premises and profit, as well as the cost of the Debt Collection work itself.

When taking on Debt Collection Software, the small business needs to allocate their own resources such as people who can use the Debt Collection Software and create the Debt Collection letters. Perhaps the small business have few people, but the member of staff who is to create Debt Collection letters should have a good knowledge of English, because the Debt Collection letters are the centre of Debt Collection. If the Debt Collection letters have spelling or grammatical oversights then this could slow the Debt Collection process and also it could ruin the business relationship with the large business. The small business could want some assistance to get started and for this the Debt Collection Software should come with a good documentation set or a help file that will explain how Debt Collection process works and also how to create good Debt Collection letters. For this the documentation set or help file should explain any applicable laws plus any useful tips and in particular any clever wording used by Debt Collection Agencies would be useful.

So for about £40 the small business with a committed workforce should be able to apply the Debt Collection Software application to the problem and persuade the large business to pay the late bill and all at a much cheaper price than lawyers or Debt Collection Agencies would charge. Also they could not need the financial institutions help after all.
